individual applicants

EDUCATION4EMPLOYMENT 62% of trade firms are struggling to hire skilled workers and English speaking CSRs

Expect the application process for individuals and organizations to take about 2 to 3 months to complete depending on the nature of your request. In order to grant funds responsibly, we must consider several applications during the year and research applicants comprehensively as part of our legal obligations.  This process will help ensure that all relevant applicants are considered fairly and without favoritism or discrimination.

Application

Submit complete application, including all of the components requested, by email to the link provided. Keep a copy for yourself. We will contact you by email within 14 days. We might ask you to answer additional questions or provide more information. Your quick response will help process the application faster.

Criteria

Presently, these grants are considered for amounts between $500 and $2500 to residents of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nevada, Montana, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. Our grants are not intended to pay for the whole of your education. Other resources (scholarships, employment, etc) will be required. We do make exceptions to the amount and region for applications that demonstrate an exceptional match to the Foundation's goals, purpose, and community service. We will be expanding into other regions soon.

Grants are available to adults and children who have a plan to improve their potential through education. We provide grants for specific educational goals that promote better employment, self-sufficiency, and family stability. Be specific about the type of education you will pursue and include (by separate email) a 1-2 page description as requested at the bottom of your application. For instance, if you are asking for tuition please tell us the name of the school and where it's located, course(s) or degree program you will attend, length of study, and how the program will help you improve your ability to support yourself and the community.

FINE PRINT

We do not pay for rent, utilities, food or living expenses you would otherwise incur while not attending courses. We do not pay for home renovations, starting or expanding a business, past bills, debt consolidation, or to repay school loans and interest. You will be required to prove that the grant was used to pay for it's intended purpose (education and education related) within 12 months or you will be required to return the funds to the Bochatey Foundation within 14 days. We may  choose to send your award directly to the educational institution or company that will provide your courses in your name to be used as needed for your educational goals.

Interview & Selection

Two to five finalists will be chosen by the review committee to interview. We want to talk to you about your need,  education, application, plan and goals. We'll also talk more about the Bochatey Foundation and your requirements if your grant is funded. If we agree that we can help each other, we will ask you to submit more information so the Foundation can get a complete picture of your financial, school, societal, and work background. You will be contacted within 14 days of the last interview whether or not you will receive funding.

What to expect after gaining the award

Once awarded, the funds will be transferred to the organization through which you will receive training or other goods and services. During the grant you will be talking to one of the review committee by phone or email at least twice a month. Someone who shares your need and career choice. Someone who has been there. We hope that a listening ear and mentor with be helpful and encouraging. All this helps satisfy our reporting requirements about your progress and sustainability. We may collect information about your progress from the training source or require additional assurances on your part to secure proper use of the goods or services provided..
